I had the opportunity to test out this lens from Zeiss today on a Nikon D300 DSLR. Awesome lens, pin sharp and excellent contrast. Poor light saw me photographing some of the moths caught at Marbury CP at 1/30 of second on f2 with an ISO setting of 3200, really pushing the equipment to the limit. All in need to do now is speak nicely to the wife and father christmas may part with £1500 ish for the lens.

If it's Zeiss I'm sure it's a damn fine piece of kit but I can't imagine any Canon users wanting to part with that much dosh when they can get the Canon 100mm f2.8 for £350. In fact it's such a sharp lens they don't even make an expensive L series equivalent.
